1997 1997 September-1998 April
Conducted an ethnographic survey at the saintly tombs of Ankara, including oral historical projects conducted with women who were children during the changes in state regimes in Anatolia, from Empire to Republic. This research resulted in my Master's Thesis.

1997 July- September
Part of the METU Department of Sociology research group to conduct qualitative research on child labor and health conditions at workplaces for ILO to test the grounds for apprentice education at the industrial districts of İstanbul and Denizli. The Denizli counterpart focused on working girls in town and at the village.

1997 March-June
Part of a team of two for the qualitative research which included writing reports to test the success of the health-education projects of UNICEF conducted in the villages of Antalya, Karaman and Niğde.
